v0.16 ~ strategy layer, reserves, UX improvements


a little too tired for a proper update but here’s a bulleted list of all the new stuff in this week’s update… there’s a lot.

  • enemy army now progresses through the desert; it’s your job to halt their advance and prevent them from reaching the gulch (this replaces the unexplained “retries” system)
  • you now have reserves as well as main team; can swap units between the two sets during Camp
  • …which is important because units now get winded after participating in a fight. if you leave them out of the next battle, they will lose Winded and return to normal
  • variable promotion costs: it now costs two promotion points to promote a tier 1 job to tier 2. additionally, promoting a unit in reserves costs an extra promotion. the amount of promotions you get per camp phase increases over time (2 starting on day 5, and 3 starting on day 9)
  • fixed some tooltip obnoxiousness, they should now appear and disappear as intended
  • smoothed out a few animations
  • upcoming enemy team is displayed during Camp
  • extra draw and extra play now apply on same round they’re used
